Iranian oil minister Bijan Zanganeh said on Monday that he did not expect the OPEC meeting to be an easy one due to the opposition of some members to extending the output cut deal.“It won’t be an easy meeting. Some members are against the extension of the output cut and this makes it difficult,” Zanganeh was quoted as saying by the Iranian oil ministry’s news agency SHANA.In today’s meeting (30 November), extending the oil output cut by 7.7 million barrels per day was discussed. Although some OPEC members complained that some other members had not complied with the previous decisions, there was a consensus in OPEC and their complaint was not in a way that could prevent decision-making on extending the existing deal. OPEC members’ main concern is about how non-OPEC members would cooperate, he said in a press conference following the 180th Meeting of OPEC Conference. - Reuters, Shana
