QC Chairman Praises Kuwaiti Premier’s Patronage for Made in Qatar Expo


Qatar Chamber (QC) Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani praised Kuwait Prime Minister H H Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al Hamad Al-Sabah’s kind patronage of “Made in Qatar” expo which will be held between 19-22 February at the Kuwait International Fair.

The exhibition is organized by the Qatar Chamber in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank as strategic partner and in coordination with Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry on an area of 10,000 sqm. with a participation of about 220 Qatari manufacturing companies.

In a press statement, Sheikh Khalifa said the Kuwaiti PM’s kind patronage of the expo emphasized the strong fraternal relations between both brotherly countries.

He also affirmed that this auspices will give a strong boost to the exhibition and its business forum, pointing out that this will stimulate Qatari and Kuwaiti businessmen to further promote their joint cooperation and build more alliances and partnerships that support both countries’ economic integration under the wise leaderships of both countries’ leadership.

Sheikh Khalifa said that choosing Kuwait as a venue for the third outside edition of the expo was due to the fraternal relations between both countries at all fields and the fast-growing commercial relations between their private sectors.

He stressed the Chamber’s keenness on strengthening communication between Qatari manufacturers and businessmen and their counterparts from Kuwait for the aim of achieving an industrial and commercial partnership between both sides that serves the national economy of both brotherly countries and promote their trade exchange.

QC Chairman said that holding the expo this year comes in the light of the great advance of Qatari industry, noting that number of factories reached 800 factories and number of projects that started production after the siege reached 116 projects.

The expo aims to provide an opportunity for manufacturers and exhibitors to meet with their Kuwaiti counterparts and discuss establishing partnerships and alliances that contribute to boosting Qatari industry and exploring what the Qatari market needs from new industries, especially that depends on modern technology.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the ‘Qatar-Kuwait Business Forum’ will be held to offer an opportunity for both sides to review enhancing trade relations.

The forum will focus on means of increasing joint investments and trade as well as encouraging businessmen and companies to establish projects and transactions that serve both economies.

The expo highlights five industrial sectors; energy, petrochemicals, food industries, SMEs, furniture and miscellaneous industries.
