Abu Dhabi NPCC Wins Top British Safety Council Honor

UAE-based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) said it has won the British Safety Council’s Sword of Honor Award, a prestigious recognition presented to only a handful of global organizations for the highest standards in health, safety and environmental management. A part of Senaat Abu Dhabi, NPCC said this was the second time the company was winning the ‘Sword of Honor’.

It was one among the selected organizations from a wide range of industry sectors including construction, education and training, energy generation, food and drink, leisure, logistics, manufacturing, retail and transport, from across the globe.

The award was received by Nasser Mohamed Al Deeni, VP (HSE & Quality) at NPCC, from the British Safety Council officials at a gala event held in London recently.
NPCC said the company was selected for the honor following a rigorous evaluation by an independent adjudication panel from British Safety Council for its excellence in managing risks to workers’ health and safety and to the environment.

CEO Engineer Ahmed Al Dhaheri said: "Winning the prestigious Sword of Honor from the British Safety Council is a testament to the highest standards of HSE management protocols that we follow at NPCC. Safety is of paramount importance in every aspect of our operation and we have achieved an exceptional track-record in our HSE performance."

"As part of our organizational DNA, our commitment to the highest standards of safety earns us the trust and confidence of our customers and enables us to deliver outstanding quality in every work we undertake," he added.

Lauding the winners of Sword of Honor and Globe of Honor Awards, Lawrence Waterman, Chairman of the British Safety Council, said: "These firms are ready to face the future because they have the right values, putting the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees and the future of our planet at the heart of what they do."

"They are an example to us all, in how to look after their employees, how to engage them in health and safety and how to strive to make our organizations places where people can thrive," he added.
