More than 200,000 new trainees are set to join on Sunday vocational training institutes countrywide, the vocational training ministry said. More than 382,000 new places are made available as part of the training education season 2019/2020, including 380,000 places for vocational training and 2000 others for professional education, said the source, adding that "more than 68% of the available training offers cover key sectors for the national economy.”They cover industry (19%), hotel industry, tourism and craft industry (16.40%), building and construction (BTP) (13.09%), agriculture and food processing sector (10%) and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) (10%). With regard the training for persons with disabilities, the minister provided 674 new places in five centers of training and apprenticeship for motor impaired persons in Algiers, Boumerdes, Laghouat, Skikda and Relizane, said the source.The sector program for September 2019 mainly aims at "diversifying the training modes and mechanisms and adapt training offers with the need of labor market.” In anticipation of this season, the training institutes, which number is currently 1,295 will be reinforced by 34 new ones, with a reception capacity of 15,100 places. Joint inter-ministerial commission has been created to examine the launch of vocational Baccalaureate, which is likely to make vocational training more attractive for students.
