The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec), one of the largest energy events, is opening its 40th edition on November 4, hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.Over 40 ministers and more than 200 C-suite executives and technology pioneers from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas have gathered in Abu Dhabi to foster collaborative action, innovation, and partnerships aimed at accelerating the energy transition.Under the theme ‘Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy.’, Adipec 2024 will explore the crucial intersection of energy and artificial intelligence (AI), highlighting next-generation technologies and AI solutions that are set to reshape the future of the energy sector.Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, COP28 President, and Adnoc Managing Director and Group CEO, will deliver the keynote address during the opening ceremony.Following this, a ministerial panel titled ‘The New Global Leaders and the Energy Transition’ will feature energy ministers from the UAE, India, and Egypt discussing how emerging economies are influencing the global energy landscape while balancing challenges and opportunities in energy demand, technological advancements, environmental stewardship, and economic growth.The conference will include ten strategic and technical conferences, addressing critical aspects of the energy transition, such as energy security and affordability in the Global South, accelerating investment in low-carbon projects and alternative fuels, and the role of AI in decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors.
