The Office of Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) inaugurated the Parsian Ethane Complex, Iran’s largest ethane-producing plant in Mohr city of the southern province of Fars on Tuesday.During a one-day visit to the industrial zones of Bushehr and Fars, Mohammad Mokhber, the EIKO, inaugurated the complex, which has a gas refining capacity of 75 million cubic meters per day.The opening ceremony was attended by officials from the Energy Holding, the Tadbir Economic Group, Pars Oil Company and the Parsian Sepehr Refining Company. “With the opening of this refinery, a big step was taken in the field of environment and preventing pollutants in natural gas, as well as preventing the burning of valuable raw materials of natural gas,” Mokhber said. He added that the feed of this complex is 75 million cubic meters per day, which is equal to gas production in three phases of South Pars Gas Field and its annual production is 3.3 million tons of LPG.The official went on to say that two million tons of the output of the complex will be exported, fetching US$1 billion dollars a year for Iran.“The most modern technology in the world has been used in this field based on the knowledge of local experts in this refinery, which will lead to a significant leap in the country’s oil and gas industry,” the official added. Another advantage of this refinery is its 95% ethane recycling capacity, which is the highest purity in the country, Mokhber noted. One of the goals of the EIKO in such projects is to create jobs and develop deprived areas, said the official, adding that in this project, more than 5,000 direct jobs were created as well as about 20,000 indirect jobs. The full implementation of the National Ethane Extraction Plan, which will be fully operational by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20), is a symbol of the abilities of domestic experts, he concluded. - Iran Daily
