Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced EGP 5.4 million (US$338.520) worth of financing to purchase medical supplies and equipment required for the fight against coronavirus, according to a statement on 9 August 2020.The ministry launched an initiative in participation with foreign petroleum companies in Egypt, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population as well as Misr el Kheir Foundation. The foundation was the entity that purchased the preventive suits, face masks, and glasses. The first batch of the supplies, which cost EGP 1.8 million (US$112.840), was delivered on the 11 August 2020, the ministry said.
