Iran Mercantile Exchange Annual Trade Report


The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) announced that around IRR 817,000 billion (US$21.7 billion) of various commodities weighting over 33 million tons were traded in its domestic trading and exports halls in 1395 (March 2016-17).

The IME reported that 33 million tons of commodities worth over IRR 817,000 billion (US$21.7 billion) were traded on physical markets of the IME last year in cash and credit and on financial markets of the exchange within the framework of futures contracts, standard parallel SALAM contracts and certificate of depositary receipts (CDRs), experiencing a growth of 26% in terms of trade volume and a growth of 73% in terms of trade value compared to the same period of previous year.

The IME further said that nearly 13 million tons of different oil and petrochemical commodities with the total value of IRR 184,000 billion (US$4.9 billion) were traded in the last year. 2.5 million tons of agricultural products were also traded in agricultural trading halls of the IME in last year. - Fars
